One month ago, we launched a public play test for Dark Forest Arena, a short, action-packed version of Dark Forest.
After many iterations of development and community input, we are thrilled to announce our first official competition:
In the Grand Prix, you are a solo player racing from your 🍼 spawn planet to capture the 🎯 target planet across the map.
The 🕰 clock starts when you make your first move, and ends when you Claim Victory on the 🎯 target planet. You need to fill the planet with 50% energy to Claim Victory.
Your best time appears on the leaderboard after you finish.
This is the first asynchronous Dark Forest competition, enabling anyone to play when they have time. We hope that this will provide more playing opportunities for our international community.
Game Rules
The objective of the game is to capture the target planet as fast as possible; when you capture it your time will be submitted to the leaderboard.
There is no limit in how many games you can play. You can get started before the Grand Prix begins, but your score won’t count for the leaderboard. (We also might change the map so you don’t get too comfy 😉).
Only arenas that have our designated configuration for the weekend will be eligible for the leaderboard the ranking.
To ensure that everyone is playing on the exact same map, we store the hash of the arena configuration on chain, remove the admin, and make artifacts deterministic (so everyone gets the same artifacts).

How to Play
- Go to arena.dfdao.xyz and click
Grand Prix. - Import a wallet, or create a new one by pressing
(n) - Follow the instructions and enter the universe.
You don’t need an existing wallet or $xDAI to play. It’s completely free.
